​​SHELTER ASSISTANT

This position requires a passion for animals and people!

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Cleaning cat kennels, basic animal care

Answering phones, greeting visitors, assisting with adoptions

Assisting with daily tasks required in daily shelter operations- laundry, cleaning during the day, etc.

Applicant must have at least 2 years of experience in an animal shelter, boarding kennel, or veterinary clinic.

Applicant must have excellent communication skills.
Applicant must have reliable transportation.
Applicant must be able to complete daily tasks with minimal supervision.
Applicant must be comfortable dealing with all types of cats with all types of temperaments.
Applicant must have strong customer service skills and be able to work as a part of a team.

Applicant must have a flexible schedule and be available to work weekends and holidays.

Applicant must be at least 21 years of age.

This position will be 15-25 hours per week.

Rate of pay is negotiable and based on experience.

The right person for this position must have a passion for animal sheltering (and cats!). The HSMC is a private non profit shelter. We are growing and expanding programs and are looking for qualified people to grow with us!

ANIMAL CARETAKER

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

Feeding, cleaning, medicating cats/kittens in the shelter.

MUST BE AVAILABLE TO WORK 8AM-11AM

Must be at least 18 years of age.

MUST BE ABLE TO START IMMEDIATELY

Must have reliable transportation.

Must be able to lift 50 pounds.

Experience handling cats/kittens of all temperaments required. 

Starting pay: $14.00/hour
