"Chevy"
Hi there! A couple of weeks ago I was fortunate enough to adopt a 'pup' named Gabe from your shelter and thought I would send some pix I've taken since he has joined our family. My husband and daughter have renamed him "Chevy" which may suit him if he gets as large as he seems he might. It took Chevy a few days to get used to a house and activity - he was scared of everything! It has taken him some time to learn his name and to come when he is called but he's got it down pretty good now! He is a smart dog and loves his doggie treats! He warmed up right away to our dog Elle and has been her shadow from day one. Elle seemed a bit on the jealous side and even a bit mopey at first but has since done much better. We are building a new house in Riner on a wooded lot so the last two weekends they have had a ball running up and down stairs and all through the bigger house. Poor Chevy hasn't quite gotten used to riding though- he tends to get car sick. Elle did the same thing as a pup until she got used to it so I'm sure Chevy will get better. In the meantime - we travel with lots of towels!!! This Thursday he is going to visit the vet to get all of his shots and to get neutered. I was afraid he was still too young but Dr. Call said it wouldn't be a problem at his current age. He will have to stay there over night so I'm hoping he doesn't think he is getting left again. He'll have his blanket and chewies so hopefully he'll know he is coming back home. Chevy is a sweet natured and loving pup, we are so glad he got to become part of our family. I will send more pix after he grows some more. If you recall, when we first got him his little ears flopped over but now they stand up straight !!! Thank you again! Tami Tynan-Akers |
