Chinese Crested Powderpuff (I have hair!) My family had to move and I

Hello Friend! My name is Larry. Pretty
handsome guy huh? First, I am of Red Heeler decent, 2 years old,
neutered, and fabulous!! I came to the shelter in February of 2008. My
family didn't want me anymore. I was pretty bummed out for awhile but
once I got into the swing of things around here I realized it isn't so
bad. I love cookies and those crazy little toys that squeak. That cracks
me up!!! Come by let's go for a walk!! |

Hey! My name is Levi (that's me on top) and
below is my brother Milo. How cute are we? I am not sure what we are
supposed to say so let me start at the beginning. Our Mom had us in a
barn in January. The nice man who lived there found all 10 of us one
day! You should have seen his face! My Mom was scared of him at first
and told us to stay quiet, but then he came back and gave her food and
made us a warm bed. He looked after our Mom and she looked after us.
Then the nice man brought us here, I wish our Mom could have stayed with
us but she got to stay with the man who had been so nice to us. She told
us to be brave and we tried but this place takes some getting used to!
Anyway we have watched our 8 brothers and sisters get adopted and man
were we jealous! Why hasn't anybody picked us? We think we are the
pick of the litter. We just got neutered (ouch!) but we feel great now.
We are learning how to walk on one of those leash things - kinda weird
but we are trying! We love other animals! Come by the shelter and we can
hang out! We can show you our new leash skills!
Oh and we are Lab/Boxer mixes who will be
about 50-60 pounds when we are finished growing! |

Hi, my name is Maggie. I came to the
shelter in April of 2008. I am a 7 year old yellow lab. I have been
spayed and had my shots. I had to come here after my Dad passed away. I
still miss my family but I am feeling better every day. I am a full
figured gal. They are trying to get me to lose some weight so I will be
healthier. I am not crazy about the diet food but the walks are awesome!
There is so much around here to see and smell. Maybe you are looking for
a walking buddy or just a good friend to hang out with. Come by the

Hey Ya'll. They call me Vegas and I promise
if you take a chance on me you will never be sorry. Check out that
picture- that is my best show dog imitation! I am a 3-4 years old German
Shepherd/Collie mix. I have been spayed and had all my shots. I have
been at the shelter since January of 2006! I was starting to feel a
little discouraged but whenever I am feeling blue - my good friends come
in and take me for a walk. My favorite thing in the world are stuffed
animals that squeak! Those things crack me up! So come on by the
shelter, you don't have to bring me anything (unless you just want to!)
I am always ready to meet new friends! You never know I might be the
girl of your dreams! |

Hi! Landon
here. I am a 2 year old, neutered male, Manchester terrier mix -fancy
huh? Boy do I have a story for you. I came to the shelter when I was 8
weeks old with my 9 brothers and sisters. We were all is pretty rough
shape but the shelter staff worked hard and helped us get strong and
healthy. I went to what I hoped would be my forever home when I was
about 4 months old. Almost a year later, we stopped by the shelter, I
thought we were just saying hi to old friends, but then my family left
me. I don't know why, all I know for sure is that my heart was broken. I
was pretty sad for a few days but then I remembered my friends here and
how nice they were when I was little. So anyway, enough of that! I am
good with other animals and would love to have a new family to call my
own. I'll be here at the shelter waiting for you to take me home and
love me ...forever! |

My name is Mary. As you
can see I am a gorgeous shep/collie mix. People say Albert and I look
like brother and sister but we are not related (I don't think so
anyway!) I am 5 or 6 years old, I lost count! I have been spayed and had
my shots. I came to the shelter just over a year ago. I was staying in
the woods behind a house, where a family was kind enough to leave food
for me every night. They tried to find my owners but I knew they would
never find them. Soon, I came to the shelter and it took a few weeks for
me to get used to it here. The best thing about this place is all the
people who come by just to take us out for walks! I never would have
imagined that there could be so many nice people in the world. I still
get a little overwhelmed and nervous when I meet new people but everyone
says I am doing much better. I really just need someone who can be
patient with me and help me learn to trust again. I hope you will come
to the shelter and visit with me and all of my friends! |

Hi all! My
name is Joey. I am 12 years old and the shelter's longest resident. I
came here in 2004- that's right 2004! I have talked about myself on
websites and newsletters so many times I am now a professional. I'm
thinking about trying match.com- I hear they guarantee a match within 30
days! Until then, allow me to tell my story...again. When I was 8 weeks
old my family adopted me and took me home. I loved them very much,
especially their son. We were great friends, but then he grew up and
went away to college and suddenly nobody wanted me. When I first came to
the shelter, I thought for sure they would only be gone for a few days
and they would come and take me home. I waited patiently but they never
came. I still think of my boy and hope that he is alright and someone is
watching out for him. I hope he knows I am not angry with him and that I
will always love him. My life here is pretty good, I get all the cookies
I can eat and big fluffy beds to lay on. I have a special friend here
that always tells me my day will come when someone picks me. So I wait.
The older I get and the grayer my hair becomes the harder it gets to
compete with the younger dogs, but I keep trying. You would never guess
I am 12, I can still catch a tennis ball better than half of these pups!
My perfect home would be one where I can always be with my special
someone, as you can imagine, the thought of being abandoned still
frightens me. I would love a house where I can be the only one, no other
animals and no children please. I am not as young as I used to be and I
just don't think I could be a great friend to a young child anymore. I
would love to meet you and maybe you can help me figure out my new add
for match.com, or maybe you will be the one that I am waiting for. |
