"Sinatra" and "Mya"

Dear HSMC,

I love reading the happy endings for all of the HSMC alumni, and thought it was time to send an update on our kitties (I’ve attached a few pictures to this email).  We adopted Mya (previously “Pearl”) in February 2005.  She is such a soft, lovable cat and we love her so much.  Since we are both students and gone during the day, we thought she might like a friend to play with, so we came back to HSMC to adopt Sinatra (previously “Tonka”) in April 2005.  He is the funniest cat I have ever known.  Mya loves to play with mice and has been a great writing companion while I’ve been writing my thesis (she curls up on my desk in between my arms as I type).  Sinatra (named for his beautiful blue Siamese eyes and for “singing” to Frank Sinatra the whole way home from the shelter) is such a clown.  He LOVES the plastic strip that comes off of a gallon of milk, plays fetch with hair ties and likes to steal bows out of my wrapping supplies.  I have never seen a cat that loves to eat tape and plastic as much as he does (we have to be careful to hide anything with plastic or tape on it).  He is a non-stop talker as well (another Siamese trait).  We love that our cats will talk back to us when we’re talking to them, and that they greet us at the door everyday when we get home from school and work.

We love our kitties SO much and just wanted to thank you allowing them to come into our lives!  Thanks HSMC!!!

Best Wishes,

Amanda Martin and Nick Morello
