Hello…

I was just browsing your web page tonight and thought I’d send in a picture of our “Ben”. We got Ben (formerly Joey) from your shelter about 3 years ago. I had just lost my Cocker Spaniel to old age and Ben melted my heart when I walked through looking for a new companion. We took him to the vet the day after adopting him and were told he was probably a year old and a mix of Lab and Border Collie. We couldn’t figure out why anyone would give him away. Well, over the next few days he proceeded to tear down several trees in the yard, dig HUGE holes and bark constantly at the cows in the pasture behind the house. The Border Collie in him was rearing it’s head in a BIG way! It took several weeks of training and exercising him every day to calm him down but he quickly became one of the best dogs I’ve ever known. He’s protective but friendly, smart but goofy and loving but dominate (with other dogs). He loves his squeaky toys, herding the cows and going on walks. He’s a wonderful addition to our family!
